Zach Nicholas
My name is Zach Nicholas, and I'm reaching you all the way from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I'm no life coach or guru. I'm someone with a full-time job, a packed schedule, and a genuine obsession with figuring out how to build a better life without waiting for the perfect moment to start.
By day, I'm a Sports Information Director, which sounds more glamorous than it is. Nights and weekends included. It's a job I'm good at and do enjoy, but it's not the life I'm designing. I want to control my own time. I want to build something that's mine. And I'm working towards that, one small decision at a time.
That's where this newsletter came from.
I've always written; it comes with my job. But somewhere along the way, I started combining that with something I actually cared about: self-improvement. Not the hype-driven, wake-up-at-4am, hustle-until-you-break version of it. The quiet, practical, one-step-at-a-time version. The book that pushed me over the edge was Think and Grow Rich. Something in it clicked, and I haven't stopped writing or reading since.
So I started Quiet Momentum.
This isn't a lecture from someone who has figured it all out. It's a weekly conversation from someone on the journey alongside you. Sharing what's working, what isn't, and what's worth thinking about.
One small thing to know before you dive in. I've always been a sticky note person. I use them to capture thoughts I don't want to lose, reminders to myself, lines from books that hit. Every issue ends with "The Line This Week," a single handwritten note I leave for you to sit with. It's the sentence I think is worth remembering.
Each issue is a quiet conversation: thoughtful, focused, and worth your time.
Mental models, frameworks, and ideas to cut through noise and think more clearly about work and life.
Small habits, deliberate choices, and systems for building a life that actually reflects your values.
Steady movement without the noise. How to stay consistent, avoid burnout, and keep moving forward.
If you’re figuring it out as you go, you’re in the right place.
